Here's what's included in your hospital room rate:

  • Overhead for 24/7 operations such as water, heating, air conditioning, electrical, and maintenance;
  • Permanent or multiple-use equipment such as patient beds, intravenous poles, transport tables, and wheelchairs;
  • Clinical support services such as care management and social services, unit coordination, nursing assistance, transport, patient access, and financial counseling;
  • Dietary and nutritional services, including meals;
  • Housekeeping services;
  • Health information management services;
  • Support services, including operations, finance, and patient financial services;
  • Routine nursing services are generally available to all patients, including, but not limited to, nursing assessments;
  • Intravenous injection and infusion administration, including intravenous and midline placement;
  • Nebulizer treatments provided by nursing;
  • Minor (routine) medical and surgical supplies.
